An identity is something that is ever evolving and influenced by our day to day lives. Influences that many times may be outside of our control. With this series I took a look at the assumed identities of the children at LA Family Housing's transitional housing unit during the time when we all get to step outside of who we are for one spooky evening. With a simple selection of donated costumes the children allowed their imaginations to run wild as they donned their new personas. Some of the alter-egos spoke to future aspirations, some developed from past experience, and some were just fun. Either way, witnessing an evening where these children, who stem from a wide range of home circumstances, get to dive into a fantasy world all their own as their assumed alter-egos was magical.
